Acquisition Management Process
The acquisition management process is an important process in any business set up or in an organization. The acquisition management process begins when one company needs to acquire another based on the strengths and general qualities of the acquiring organization. Acquisition aims to grow a company rapidly and increase the profits. This process starts with the company making a decision on the kind or type of organization that will be the best acquisition.
The acquiring company will more often than not look for a company in the same line of business. They may also look for complimentary companies. Once the identification has been done, the acquiring company contacts or approaches the target company to make its proposal. If the target company shows interest, its financial status is then established. Once the financial condition is seen to be in order the contract is signed by both parties. This marks the onset of the merger of the two companies. The processes involved in the two companies are compared to establish any overlap. The personnel and products are also evaluated so that the best performing are retained in the new management. Acquisition management process is not easy. Many factors come into play.
